Iron Fist was criticized for that, but with Dr Strange it got away with a White Lead because Magic isn't some Asian-Specific thing. Also they made sure to show his training site as being multi-ethnical and not a stereotypical Hidden Martial Arts School. Or maybe because Stephen Strange was actually white in the comic book? As a matter of fact is Danny Rand. Yeah, but being White in the source material didn't save Danny as his show was savaged (unfairly, IMO). Dr Strange averted it by NOT going for all those "Mighty Whitey" cliches. |
