Or maybe because Stephen Strange was actually white in the comic book? As a matter of fact is Danny Rand. Yeah, but being White in the source material didn't save Danny as his show was savaged (unfairly, IMO). Dr Strange averted it by NOT going for all those "Mighty Whitey" cliches. No, Scott Buck fucked that one up, and Marvel's Inhumans. I think Iron Fist was just boring for the first quarter as it was just him trying to prove he was Danny Rand. Upon re-watch I skipped most of the first four episodes only concentrating on The Hand, the mythos, Coleen... it was half decent in the second watch kind of fast forwarding the boring parts. |
