I remember that the last movie took place in 1957.
I guess he could go to India again and hang out with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi or Ravi Shankar with the Beatles.
Maybe the new film could just take place here in the States and ignore world traveling. He could mostly be performing his professorial duties and then go to Florida for the fountain of youth. Maybe one expedition to Spain just to dig up some old manuscript. Maybe somehow tie it in to the Cuban Missile Crisis. Just thinking outloud.
Just had another idea to tie in with Spain, Florida, and possibly Cuba. Indy could get entangled with Franco's fascist government in Spain, Castro's Communists in Cuba and maybe some Operation Mongoose operatives in Florida working on a re-invasion of Cuba.
