I think it may have been late 2000s or early 2010s when I saw it.

That was Rose McGowan and the movie was being made by Robert Rodriguez. Something happened to Rose and she broke her hand while she was filming the movie and lost feeling in her right arm which made it impossible for her to carry around the sword. The movie was put on hold but after Rose broke up with Robert and pulled out it was scrapped. Some promo pics did surface though.

That's a shame about the hand thing and the movie being cancelled. Why did they not wait for her to heal and finish off the movie? That 2nd poster looks really cool.
