Then why do Christians often read so much more into it than other classical literature? 1. Tail wagging the dog syndrome. It's the same thing goofy non-religious people do to come up with questions about how blacks shouldn't be Christians because of what white dudes did almost 2,000 years later. You can always find something out of context to back something you desperately want to believe. 2. Most people don;t tun to a ancient book for worship in the first place, but of the few holy books out there, the Bible is not the most difficult by a long shot.
