I don't get them either hardball. I grew up with a homophobic Father that was always putting down homosexual people and calling them wonderful names like fags, poofters and dykes and he made me hate myself when I started having feelings for my best friend 'cause I thought there was something seriously wrong with me and I was afraid what other people would think if they found out. My parents abandoned me when I came out and I haven't spoken to either of them in over 20 years and didn't attend my Father's funeral but luckily for me I had a very supportive and accepting Sister who has been more like a Mum to me than a Sister and a supportive Aunt and Uncle who I am very close with and coming out was the best thing I did 'cause I realised there was nothing wrong with me and it was him who had the problems and for the first time I finally felt like I could be myself and not have to hide who I was. My Wifey and I are having our second wedding (our first here in Australia thanks to Same Sex Marriages being legal now) and looking back on everything we have both been through it was worth it to get to where we are today and we both don't miss our parents 'cause we have each other and I have a family that loves both of us.
