Carrie is one of my all-time favorite horror films. Brian De Palma's stylized direction of the prom scene was done to perfection. Who can forget the gymnasium being engulfed in the rising flames with Carrie's silhouette standing in front of it; that looked like an image straight out of hell! The entire cast shines, but the performances by Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie were nothing short of brilliant. And the icing on the cake is the striking music score by Pino Donaggio.
