It seems absurd to me that people didn't try anything imaginable to avoid going to Vietnam. What a disaster that was. Why would anyone willingly go? And I say that despite having family I'm close to--two uncles, who fought in Vietnam, by the way. They both had their lives saved by getting high. They snuck out of their camp in the middle of the night to get high, and the camp was bombed while they were doing so.
