Hateful 8 - I hated this movie. So why is it here?
Because it is the best looking movie I've ever hated.
It's perfectly directed, scored, & filmed. The acting is on point and especially from Walter Goggins basically playing a more racist version of his character Boyd Crowder in Justified.
When they aren't in the lodge, the scenes are stunning...STUNNING. I need to visit Wyoming one day.
That aside, everything else is pretty ugly and pointless. I hated everyone except for a few that were murdered before I got to know them. I could not get past how despicable every single one of them was. I didn't care who won and, aside from typical tension, would have been fine with a bomb dropping on the lodge and blowing everyone up.
The film is way too long but it allows for Tarantino's dialogue skills to shine a bit. But again, it all pointless except to show why there's no reason to care about these people.
It's definitely no Kill Bill.
