Based on a short story by Aleksander Pushkin, The Queen of Spades is an expectionally made gothic horror with a stunning cinematography and a riveting performance by Anton Walbrook. One of my personal favourites from the 1940s ! Is anyone acquainted with this rather obsure gem ?
