I recall a Mad parody of Singing In The Rain with Gene Kelly singing "I'm winging it alone, I'm winging it alone. No broads to upstage me, like Leslie Caron".
I choked up on that one because watching him dance with anyone, I always got the feeling that his favorite partner was himself. I know he was absolutely brutal to Debbie Reynolds for which she forgave him.
