I have a tale to tell about some Kodiac Bear Cubs who were orphaned as infants by some idiot hunter who killed their mom even tho' he knew she had cubs. He actually bragged about it. The cubs were sought and located and just barely rescued and their in-evitable doom averted. Because bears need a parent to even begin to have a chance of survival in the wild they could not just be released to take their chances. The brothers now reside within a 1.5 - 2 acre landscaped, safe bear environment with trees, a wild pond stocked periodically with live fish, and assorted enrichment activities. They have a bridge so that they can choose their environment caves with ponds or woods They are beautiful animals and it's been a pleasure to watch them grow. Never once thought of them as "objects". Boda and Munsey as babies ... they are named after the guys who rescued them !
