Agreed. That's 1 of the reasons why TLJ was so disappointing. We thought those questions about who Rey's parents were and how Rey became so proficient at using the force would be answered in TLJ, but TLJ gave no explanation, other than 1 line about Rey's parents being nobodies, which doesn't explain how Rey became so proficient at using the force.

And we're not talking about Rey being able to do simple stuff with the force. She can do the same things that Kyle Ren, who has been trained for most of his life, does with no explanation for how she got that way.

Same with T'Challa's sister. We're not talking about T'Challa's sister just being the smartest kid in her class. BP made her an Einstein-level genius with no explanation at all for how she got that way.
