Loved it! That movie was so well cast, it's like the fantasy draft dream team of UK actors! Of course, not all of them were as famous as they are now: Helena Bonham Carter Maggie Smith Denholm Elliott Judi Dench Daniel Day-Lewis Julian Sands Rupert Graves Simon Callow If Merchant-Ivory had made some of their modestly budgeted movies just a few years later, potentially, increased wages for performers might have been significant. Having said that, I'm sure a lot of the British actors they used would turn out for a James Ivory picture anyway. They also were good at plucking young theatrical talents and putting them into movies before they got big.
