Blade Runner (1982)
I am a big fan of existenial movies and while 2049 touches on similar themes, it doesn't do it in as interesting of a way. Another thing 2049 lacks is an interesting antagonist. That is part of what makes the original Blade Runner so unique, is that Roy Batty is the antagonist but he isn't a villain in the traditional sense. I also love the film for the film noir type storytelling.
It is a landmark in terms or visual effects, cinematography and production design, and has one of the most beautiful and haunting film scores of all time.
I love Blade Runner 2049 too though.
