I actually enjoy both but give 2049 a slight edge. Unfortunately I didn't see the original in the theater so that probably has something to do with it. I didn't see the film until several years later but I've enjoyed all the various cuts. I actually like the original cut the best as I like the narration by Ford (I know a lot of people don't). 2049 though just blew me away. I really liked Leto's lair. The lighting especially was impeccable. ha, since you bring up Lets character - didnt you mind the fact that the guy that owns a literal EYE MANUFACTURE does not have eyes/sight (or not at all times?) why was he chosing to remain blind in most times? He clearly had the capabilities to design and manufacture eyes for himself. my feeling is that it was purely to make the character look more odd/menacing, kinda like taking the nose off of Voldemort. But it didnt really make sense here. What do you think? Same with killing the fake Rachel android. Since making hem was so time consuming and expensive, why would you waste one like that (or the other one he killed) maybe you would decommission them, maybe you would hurt her to get Deckart in pain but why wasting such an expensive machine?? Leto and his lair (while visually stunning) were the weakest link for me.
