That seems like it could be in the final episode of The Big Bang Theory. It's about comparable to the current standard of their writing.
As for myself, just because I don't believe in 'God', it doesn't mean that I want a physicist taking on the role of a clergy member at my funeral (not that I want a funeral in any case). Because I and my family don't worship 'God', that doesn't mean that they do worship the cult of science.
