Good writing, twists and character arcs Everything was predictable, from Ares not being behind the war, to him being the British guy...damn everything. Actually, she was. Her whole arc was "Woman-child becoming less of a woman-child, due to the spineless writers never putting her in real danger." Lightly. Because they weren't afraid to shy away from the impact alien tech being discovered would have, instead of a bland generic Holocaust exploitation flick. No, they were plenty useless except as plot devices. Not really. It just was decent after several flops, which made it look better than it was.
