Another piece of history, the first "first four" team to beat a #6. Upset evening! Really, a first four team has never beaten a six? Didn’t VCU make the Final Four as a First Four team several years ago? OK, maybe. I'm not very knowledgeable. I merely repeated what the narrator on TV said. For me not to know, it's OK, I'm no expert. For him not to know, it's his profession, so it's a shame. But who knows? Maybe VCU beat some other seed while advancing and there is the mere detail that initially it wasn't a #6 (which anyway would pale in comparison to the feat of reaching the Final Four). I'm not motivated enough by this issue to look it up. If you find out the answer, do let me know, just as a matter of curiosity (I'm curious to know if the narrator just spouted nonsense or if he was right about it). |
