I liked The Stand as well. High production values but due for a remake agree.
Firestarter was also good. Pet Sematary was all right, but the book was better (it's my fave King novel actually). There was also a Tommyknockers TV, but it's been so long since I watched I can barely remember it. I also like the movie versions of the short story Night Flier and the Bachman novel Thinner.
The less said about Needful Things the better. They left out Ace Merrill for Pete's sake.
