Not a big rugby fan, but I remember watching an England world cup game, I think it was the WC after we won it, and we got to the final but lost. Well anyway England scored a legitimate try in the final, goes to the video replay, and they don't give the try for no reason at all. It was a close call but definitely a try. People always say one of the great things about Rugby Union over soccer is that they always respect the referee's decision. But c'mon, if you can't get in the face of a referee who has just made a terrible call in a WORLD CUP FINAL, well then quite frankly I'm not sure if you deserve to win the WC. You're just gonna sit there and take it, and not even protest in the biggest game of your lives? Dreadful. Does anyone remember this? Have I got the right game? Don’t remember it TBH Stan. The big difference between RU refs and most other sports refs is that if you get up in their face, then you are getting a red card. No ifs, buts, whatever’s. Tell your story walking pal. And even at the very top level, it’s Colour 1 v Colour 2 and every player is referred to by number. So, England is “White 15” or “Scrum White”, Australia “Gold 5”, NZ “Black Captain” etc etc. it’s the way it should be across the board. Ive yet to see a player in soccer crowding a referee ever get a decision overturned. Ever. But I guarantee if refs grew spines and started red carding some of these idiots, it will stop real quick.
