There was a similar attitude when Black Panther was announced.
For whatever reason there's people who are threatened when a woman or POC are in starring roles or take up a large portion of the cast.
Especially if it's a comic book Movie. A genre that is usually made up of White men.
Yes. I saw some of the reactions over Black Panther and they were appalling to say the least and there were flat out racists using words like 'Nigga' and 'Coons' on message boards and comment sections and I wouldn't be surprised if they were KKK members. It is anytime there is a movie with a female lead, person of colour or an LGBT character they throw tantrums over it and claim it is being forced on them when it is them that want to force millions of movies with heterosexual white males down our throats and don't see the hypocrisy of it. Did you see the posts about James Olsen on the 'Supergirl' IMDB board? I can't say I have been a big fan of the latest version of the character but the colour of his skin wasn't the problem and they were claiming the show was trying to force an interracial relationship between Kara and James to screw white men out of dating.
