wasn't this what TLJ was all about? Didn't hate it, but that just happened a lot. I don't understand what you mean. I meant it would break the suspense and tension of the scene. one of the major criticisms levelled against TLJ were that Marvel-eque jokes kill the believability and suspense.
Take the first 5 minutes: Poe's Yo-Mama prank call before he attacks the destroyer. Or Luke throwing his father's lightsaber over his shoulder like a piece of trash (letting it fall would have sufficed). Or him moof milking and drinking green milk (though I enjoy that but I'm the minority).
Cutting those jokey elements would have improved the tension and suspese.
