🎄Jan El Señor🎄
but if you notice... i said i am a sinner like everyone else, which is the truth (i don't get a free pass with God). hence, no 'holier than thou' attitude. i am just simply telling people it's wrong and it's on them whether they want to ignore the truth or not.
also, with the movie comment about me... it comes back to whether that breaks the "Thou shalt not steal" commandment or not. it's kinda a grey area with us humans but i understand that with God there is no grey area as it's either stealing or it's not. if i wanted to play it safe, i would not do it. but to be honest... even assuming i am wrong and it is stealing in the eyes of God, it won't be easy for me to stop because it's just something i been doing for ages and it's too convenient for me. but even assuming it is stealing i am pretty sure that would be under the 'venial sin' category in my religion which, while i should still stop doing it since sin is bad, it's not mortal sin (serious sin) territory as that stuff you definitely don't want to risk since if something is mortal sin territory it's something you could risk hell for where as venial sin you don't. but like i have said before... no one can cheat God so if i am in the wrong, ill have to pay the price for it.
also, if you really want to get into that whole hypocrite line of thinking... i imagine you could call many (if not nearly all) Christians that simply because if someone does not live those standards to the letter, which it's not realistic for the average person to commit no sin at all since we are all sinners and are basically going to sin to some degree, then you can call them a hypocrite because they are technically doing what they are supposed to be against.
just some thoughts

i am sorry you feel this way, but don't let that push you away from the Truth. don't worry too much about what others think as in the end it's all about getting on God's good side which i realize won't be easy since we are all sinners.
the truth is... no one is exempt from the laws of God. we all sin on some level and have to pay the price for it but i figure the main thing is to at least cut out any serious sin in ones life which regular prayer etc helps assists us in this area and try to be charitable to others where you can as that's basically a quick summary of it.
also, you said... "I hardly see anyone from a non-Christian religion be like this" ...
...like i always say, if you want a easy religion don't go Catholic but if you want the Truth, then choose Catholic.
it's not always easy to follow but it's the Church tied to Jesus Christ as it's basically the one He started with Peter and then passed down through the generations til today with Pope Francis. personally i prefer the Truth because in a basic sense we have a fallen nature after the fall of Adam/Eve and don't see things clearly (like stuff that's bad can appear appealing to us now) and it will sometimes be hard for us to do what is right. but we need God in our lives as He's our only hope as eventually your going to die here on earth and then you got one of two final destinations which is either heaven or hell. so basically hearing the Truth won't be easy since it forces us out of our comfort zones etc and i am sure we all have areas that we are weak in.
while you make a good point, as people need to find ways to better protect kids in those unfortunate situations etc, it still does not change the fact that abortion is wrong, especially in those cases where someone gets it purely because they see the kid as a inconvenience to their lifestyle etc (basically done for no legitimate reason like if the mothers life is in danger would be a legit reason). also, their choice came when they choose to have sex or not and there is always a possibility one can become pregnant when having sex and they need to take responsibility for their actions but many just take the easy way out with abortion because i am willing to bet the vast majority of abortions are for petty reasons which boil down to inconvenience for the parent.
hell, even if one wants to look at that abortion issue from a more worldly standpoint... since there is literally millions of people who were never born because of it, it's possible you could have had some people who could have went on to do great things in the world but won't now.
p.s. while suffering appears pointless to the world it has a purpose within Christianity. but those who don't believe in God simply won't get this aspect. not saying it makes suffering easy, but can help a bit.
The best part of this is seeing m-slovak79 's hypocrisy with his "holier than thou" attitude" in this thread, when on other threads he has no problem admitting that he likes to steal movies....

the biggest problem I have with the uber catholics/Baptists/Lutherans [whomever -- I hardly see anyone from a non-Christian religion be like this]. do as I say not as I do. the laws in their religion are options to them but not to you. doesn't matter if you are part of their religion or not, you are wrong and they are right. That is why I stopped going to church.

and they are okay with kids being born into the world by parents who don't give a shit, who are abusive, who don't care, who can't take care of themselves. and then when acs has to get involved, aw naw! you ain't takin ma baby from me! [kills the acs worker]. These uber religious people get bugs up their butts and protest abortion clinics/planned parenthood but have apparently have no problem with letting these children they are forcing to be born to be abused, malnourished, neglected and even killed [Zymere Perkins]. killing a life you don't want to/can't afford to/can't take care of is a no no but abusing/neglecting/killing them after they are living is okay?
