Question is, is UConn another UNLV? A program that had one run with one coach. They won a title under Kevin Ollie, but it was still Jim Calhoun's team. Like UNLV under Tarkanian, a national power, then one good year after Tark swam away. Connecticut isn't the premier job it once was. Team isn't in the Big East anymore. Stoors, Connecticut isn't exactly a happening place. Everyone thought UConn was a better job than Pitt, exclusive of money. Sucks for Rhode Island, sucks for the A-10. a-10 needs a better tv deal; what are they on, the nbc sports network? Yeah, NBC, usually streaming if the English Premier League isn't playing. Or Rugby I hate to say it, but the Atlantic 10 is a mid major. Granted, one of the better middies, but the days of thinking the A-10 was a power conference is done. Calipari and John Chaney are gone. The A-10 ranked 11th in the RPI Conference rankings. Below the Missouri Valley and Mid-American. Losing Temple hurt badly. They do have schools in big cities, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Washington. And no dominant team. No UNC, no Kansas, no UCLA.
