Why would anyone want the Pitt job? They finished 0-18 in the ACC this year and now 8 players have been granted a release from their scholarships. Sure, a new coach can go in and build his own team immediately, but there isn't a cornerstone to build it on. It will take years for Pitt to be competitive in the ACC again, if ever.
