57 years after the events of the first film, sole survivor Dana Barrett finds herself labeled pretty much a nutcase for her story about her apartment being terrorized by ghosts years earlier. When contact is lost with the residents at The LV-426 apartment complex in the Central Park West region, Barrett joins a team of Marines who quickly realize high powered weapons don't do shit against the paranormal.
