I must admit, though, when I heard the news my first reaction was "I thought he was dead already".
On a happier note, I saw Rick Wakeman yesterday in a motorway service station just coming out of WH Smith. I gave him a big smile, wanting to convey the love in my eyes that reflected all the times I spent in my youth playing air keyboard along to his fantastic music. But he just scowled at me.
When I went into WH Smith, I saw that they had run out of the Daily Telegraph, so that probably explains why he wasn't in the best of moods.
