Constantine adds so much fun to this show imo and he's a perfect blend of silly and serious that the show lives in at the best of times, that's the problem with a bunch of the characters is they generally exist in the silliness but it's the balance that makes the show work when it does work.
Darville I'm guessing failed to be what Ryan can be because of how the people behind the scenes wanted his character to come across, Constantine works because his cockiness and humour comes from his actual ability, he knows he's the dogs bollocks but that he can also make a dogs dinner out of things, where as Rip was just a pompous tosser who we learn repeatedly is a fuck up so why he's so pompous makes no sense at times, amd the fact he's such a fuck up begs the question how did he make it this far? Darville has the talent to be great he's just generally given shit material imo.
Benefit Ryan has as Constantine is he's made his version enjoyable to watch just in the performance so even if they give him shitty material his portrayal of the character makes it work, similar with Dominic Purcell as Mick, he doesn't get a lot to do at times but how he delivers what he has is great imo, so long as we don't lose Mick to make way for Constantine LOT S4 looks to be a lot more fun to watch than S1-3 imo atleast.
This. Now this is the most positive post I have seen you write about one of these shows for a while Dazz and I agree with what you said and I think Constantine is going to be a great addition to 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' and he might turn the show around next season. I am still interested in seeing if they add more and Nate and Amaya leave at the end so they can bring some more new faces on board. With Mick having fire powers I don't think we are going to see Jax return with another character to form a new Firestorm 'cause it looks like Mick might end up being nearly as powerful as Firestorm was (in this show) and I think it is fun seeing him with powers. I know some people would rather see him as a villain but Mick is one of the characters I enjoy seeing as a hero now and I think they have gone too far with him now to go back. I always liked his scenes with Ray and you can tell deep down he cares about Ray and enjoys being with him sometimes even though he will never admit it.
They have messed up Rip though and I am not sure what they are going to do with him now. I am starting to think he might get killed off at some point unless they are able to come up with a more substantial role for him 'cause he just seems to be there 'cause he is there some episodes and doesn't contribute anything. Something tells me the human version of Gideon might become a regular since they keep bringing her back and she appears to be popular with the fans so they might make her more like Android in 'Dark Matter' with a robot body. By the way, you posted that GIF of Daniel Bryan. Did you know Daniel Bryan has been cleared to return as a full time wrestler and looks to be wrestling his first match back at Wrestlemania in a tag team match with Shane McMahon against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn?
