I really think WB rushed things. MoS was ok to start the DCEU - an unpopular opinion I know - but BVS tried to do too much. Instead of just being about Batman and Superman, they had to include Doomsday, WW and lay the seeds for Justice League. WB tried to do too much at once. You're not wrong at all. WB/DC should have followed the MCU model just out of caution and made solo movies for the JL members, barring perhaps Cyborg and maybe the Flash since Ezra Miller apparently was likable enough despite limited screentime. I think it's more where they started them and what stories they used. Why start out with Doomsday and use KGBeast instead of making him John Corben and Metallo for the end? Why start Batman with The Dark Knight Returns? They should have treated this like the superhero world is fairly new. |
