Are movie re-makes ever better than the original?

The 2 "Cape Fears", in my opinion, were equally good.
The only thing the original "Little Shop of Horrors" lacked was color.

Now, to be technical, there were 2 "Hulk" movies made only. and again, in my opimion, the second one was far superior to the first.
