Did anyone care in the first place? Gambit's never been that interesting a character. I think in the beginning, yes. After X-men Origins people wanted more Gambit. When Tatum was announced people still wanted a Gambit movie, but mostly without Tatum. Then time went on and the care went away. With no director staying on for more than a couple weeks and it going nowhere, why still care? It's like the Flash movie at this point (but who wants to watch 2 more hours of Miller running like that?). The Flash is a pretty hard character to do when the story is centered around him, given how his power basically kills all real drama. You usually have to write him as an incompetent for the plot to work (like his TV show eventually did) or depower him so he can't really go faster than the naked eye. |
