You're not wrong at all. WB/DC should have followed the MCU model just out of caution and made solo movies for the JL members, barring perhaps Cyborg and maybe the Flash since Ezra Miller apparently was likable enough despite limited screentime. I think it's more where they started them and what stories they used. Why start out with Doomsday and use KGBeast instead of making him John Corben and Metallo for the end? Why start Batman with The Dark Knight Returns? They should have treated this like the superhero world is fairly new. I think it should’ve been split into two parts. The first one being Batman v Superman having KGBeast (with the suit) and Metallo. This is where the Kryptonite plays a bigger role than what we got. Both Batman and Superman still fight and then realize Lex Luthor set both of them up. At the end, Lex Luthtor still wins by making them Public Enemies which helps sets up Part 2, The Dawn of Justice. This is where they are still trying to stop Lex. Lex has a private military behind him who are equipped with Kryptonite weapons, all trying to hunt Batman and Superman. Wonder Woman makes her first appearance in this and I honestly don’t mind the Doomsday at the end for Death of Superman |
