It's possible but I think a lot of claims are bogus.

The ONLY abduction that I believe could be real is the Betty and Barney Hill one. All others are just lies, hoaxes or the person/s is/are nuts. It makes no sense for extraterrestrials to need to do it. Unless it's their way of getting kicks.

One reason why aliens are abducting people - assuming it is true - is for experimentation purposes, analyzing and exprimenting on Earthling the way our scientists do with guinea pigs and lab rats. Or perhaps they want to preserve some human specimens in case we blow ourselves up.
