I admit, Finn is probably one of my least favorite good-guy characters in the new trilogy. On paper, he is the kind of character I normally like, but the lines they've given him have made him a bit too much of a comic relief in LAST JEDI. He was a better character in FORCE AWAKENS.And, despite her getting slightly chummy & very forgiving of that Krybaby Ren, I still very much like Rey. I think she is as forgiving as Luke once was, as headstrong as any Skywalker, and as desperate for familial reconciliation as any child of her background might be. I agree on both points. I just watched The Force Awakens the other day and he was very amusing and that, whereas he was trying way too hard in The Last Jedi. He was trying too hard at times in TFA, but it was almost the entire movie in TLJ. I never understood this decision, especially since it takes place directly following the previous movie. She hates him in TFA and then you suddenly interested in saving his soul in TLJ? I understand what you’re saying about her trying to be forgiving, but it’s not even a week later. Plus, I always hated that about Star Wars. It’s one of my biggest complaints. I hate that they are always trying to turn and/or forgive the bad guys; at least the force sensitive ones.
