Justice League was a disappointment.

There was no set up for Surtur, just a brief cameo in the first 5 minutes and forgotten until the end. Jeans troubling Phoneix powers was gradually shown throughout in Apocalypse and in 3 films in the original trilogy. And Phoneix force resurgence meant sacrificing Jean at the end of X2 and leading to her eventual death in X3, and will lead into her despondent crazed state in Dark Phoneix film. More impactful than a bunch of faceless Asgardians being rescued but still alive.
