Precisely why I don't think the Giants will take a QB. QB isn't a real need and they could fill a ton of holes with that pick. The Bills will give up two #1's and a #2 for that pick. NY could take Saquon and have him prolong Eli's shelf life. Make the running game the focus of the offense, save on Eli getting hit and take a project QB later this draft or next year. There are other RB's, Derrius Guice, Ronald Jones, the Georgia boys, Sony Michel and Nick Chubb. But to take a QB and either start him and ruin what little you have left in Eli (remember Simms/Hostetler?) or have Eli booed every time he throws a pick and the NY media screaming for Josh Allen? Once again, too many other needs for the G-Men. Jets have no choice. Like the Bills, this quagmire at QB has to stop now. I'll be shocked (and pissed) if the Bills don't pick at #2 on draft day. if a team is a hot mess - i.e. 2-14 with multiple holes and gaps to fill - i'm all for trading down and gaining numerous assets. then swapping those assets for additional assets. call me crazy but here's how i'd build a team. position skilled players (i.e. RB, QB, WR) last (notice i said if you're team is a hot mess though) build from: 1. Offensive Line - it all starts up front protecting the QB, controlling the clock, opening holes for a running game and giving the QB enough time in the pocket to pass or improvise a bit if his options are shutdown downfield 2. Defensive Line 3. Secondary . . then QB, WR, RB ......and to a much lesser extent punter/kicker. i'd try to build the most dominant O-Line in football ......... That's very true. But the Bills, Jets and Browns haven't had a decent QB in forever. Bills, since Kelly. A couple placeholders, Flutie, Orton, a couple so-so's, Tyrod. But none since Kelly. Who was the last long term healthy solution for the Jets? Pennington had moments but he had the shoulder of a 90 year old woman. Testaverde had moments but he was over the hill. Then who, O'Brien? Richard Todd? Namath? The Browns haven't had a quality QB in this version of the team and you have to go back to Kosar. And the QB's aren't there next year. A few "maybe's", Jarred Stitham from Auburn, Will Grier from WVU, Drew Lock from Missouri, the QB form Washington who's name I can't come up with. None are even in Lamar Jackson's league. Or Luke Maye's. You can't compete in the NFL running out bums behind center for years and years and expect the fans to give a shit. No matter what the other needs your team has, if you need a QB, this is the year.
