I admit I haven't been watching much in the way of film content lately...lately I've been doing research on what vintage TV material is held by Australia's National Film and Sound Archive, for example I recently checked which 1990s newscasts they hold have been digitised. ...but today I watched a short made for Australia's National Film Board, a 10-minute documentary, about the introduction of electricity into a small rural town. Switch On Bigga (1953) is something I watched last year, and I decided to re-watch it. It was almost a lost film until a copy with washed-out, faded colour turned up. Although very few feature films were made in 1950s Australia, many documentary shorts were made and I enjoy watching them (I've seen many of them).
