I voted an even mix of good and bad. Yes, the nostalgia filter does play a big aspect in the reminisces though and while I didn't apply myself as best as I should have, overall, I went to a pretty decent high school. It was an era of abusive teachers though that could get on power trips, and corporal punishment for boys was administered quite readily—girls were exempt, so no equality and female bias in their favor here—which I escaped, but got threatened with a couple of times.
It sounds like you were more self-confident and assured than I was though. I don't really wish to relive my teen years again and being a closet gay kid, it did make it a bit more challenging, because while hormones were raging all around, I felt like I was on the outside looking in for the most part. The last couple of years I found the most difficult.
little you know that once an adult always an adult and adulting is not as much fun as one teen might think

PS: and yes I didnt have the extra stress that you may have been facing…
Yes, I agree, what one feels is so important as a teen and the excitement of becoming an adult—which isn't what it's all cracked up to be
—I can attest to some of what you have mentioned, about the amazing adventure that was ahead. I never went to university and went straight to work after high school and was actually excited about leaving school. From the mid to the end of the 80's, I had a pretty good job that served it's purpose, and of course living at home, one doesn't have the added stress of excessive bills to contend with. I was able to save money for my next life in OZ as a young adult.
I also shouldn't feel as indignant about whatever personal issues I had to deal with, because I did have an ok circle of friends both in school and out of school, in spite of any emotional conflicts I was contending with. Others I'm sure, have had it worse. The rest can just be chalked up to life experiences and like Nietzsche's proverb...that which does not kill us, makes us stronger.
