piracy is a grey area for many though because it's basically a victimless crime. Hundreds of thousands of jobs in a number industries worldwide have been lost due to internet piracy/file sharing (aka copyright theft). It is anything but a victimless crime. I could elaborate far more - giving you facts and figures, but industry policy (for many reasons) is not to talk about the elephant in the room so I won't. However, I will tell you that to call internet piracy "basically a victimless crime" is not only disingenuous, it is an utter lie, and you are fooling no one but yourself. Subject closed. |
