I see where you both are coming from. I know a gay woman who is conservative [like jumping for joy when Trump won the election]. being gay does not automatically get the democratic vote, just as the democratic vote doesn't automatically get the gay vote. However, at the same time I do see a majority of the Liberals/Democrats I know as being the most intolerant, hateful and [yeah, james hit the nail right on the head with this one] VIOLENT! Did we [republicans] go to the democratic conventions and do anything dangerous? no. I don't know how many people were bitching and moaning about moving to Canada if Trump won [still waiting to wave goodbye to these twits]. If Hillary won the republicans would have juts dealt with it and moved on. now some of these diehard demos HAVE ANOTHER EXCUSE TO NOT WORK! [They go on protests and shit] I am a republican but I am what you call a democratic republican. I believe that all of the US citizens deserve all that the US has to offer, all the benefits, all the freedoms that come with being a good American. I just have a problem with giving my money to taxes so that so many able bodied people can CHOSE NOT TO WORK. I teach in the south Bronx. I once had a dentist parent scream at the school because her child [singular] was denied free lunch. I am freaking serious. sorry for the rant. You are not ranting. Your responses are reasonable, not like jameswhathisface. I don't live in the States, so I don't know what incidents you are referring too, but I have seen programs with extreme right wing nut jobs protesting against gay rights and people of color and they were also being violent. I don't think it is accurate or appropriate to just point out a finger at liberals and whatever "violence" you feel they may have perpetrated. I could also say, that perhaps many liberal minded people are passionate or spirited for whatever cause they are fighting for, rather than being stoic and even appearing soulless, like the political term "conservative" can provoke in many.
