An unnamed man who is now 48 claims that when he was 14, Spacey, who was 24, carried on a sexual relationship with him that ended when Spacey allegedly attempted to rape him. Spacey denies the allegations through a spokesperson.

Actor Anthony Rapp says that when Rapp was a 14-year-old actor on Broadway, Spacey invited him to a party at Spacey's apartment. Rapp says that after everyone else had left, Spacey, apparently drunk, tried to have sex with him, but Rapp squirmed away and left. Spacey denies any recollection of the event, but says that if anything like that occurred, it was because he was drunk.

The son of actor Richard Dreyfuss alleges that Spacey sexually assaulted him while his father was in the same room. Harry Dreyfuss, 18 at the time, says that Spacey groped his crotch while his father was not looking. (Spacey was directing his father in a theatrical production in London at the time.) Spacey's lawyer has said Spacey absolutely denies the allegation.

In the wake of allegations having been made by Rapp and others, the Old Vic theatre in London, where Spacey was artistic director for a decade, undertook an investigation to determine whether there had been any inappropriate behavior while Spacey had worked there. The investigation reported 20 individual allegations of inappropriate behavior by Spacey--14 of which were deemed of such severity that the theatre advised the complainants to take the matters up with the police. All of the allegations involved young men over the age of 18, and none involved rape. The theatre said that senior staff had received no formal complaints of any incidents during Spacey's tenure; the complaints had only surfaced after he had left. Some former staff have alleged that Spacey's behavior had been an open secret.

At least 8 current or past crew members on House of Cards have accused Spacey of inappropriate behavior, typically involving young male staff members. One former employee alleges that Spacey sexually assaulted him (which included putting his hands down the staff member's pants).
