I believe if Mark had known what they would do to Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa, he wouldn't ever have signed the contract to return. It wasn't about the money with Mark. He legitimately loved his character and his involvement within the franchise.

Disney knew they were riding Lucas' coattails through this new trilogy. If you go back to 2012 with the news of Star Wars being bought, the very first news Disney released was the return of the original trio (Hamill/Fisher/Ford) to the movies. That's how they got us. That's how they tricked us.

Now I think of the Luke Skywalker from the original movies and it just makes me sad what they did to him in Episodes 7-8. Luke Skywalker was "A New Hope" for a reason, Disney! They messed it all up. They disrespected my favorite Star Wars character and broke such a sweet guy like Mark Hamill. He deserved so much better.
