Unfortunately (or fortunately in this case as I might have disliked this more) I haven´t seen the original show. I´ve seen the movie which I didn't think was good.

I´m a fan of space-stories so I had higher hopes for this serie. As I said, I think the filming, CGI and scenery was of a very high quality and in some ways made up for the lacking in acting and writing.

Not a specific spoiler but more of an overall opinion regarding the whole show

My biggest complaint was the constant saving in the nick of time. I don't know if it was the same in the original but here it became ridiculous.
