Still one of my favorites from the oughts decade. The director's extended cut added some interesting bits but it wasn't necessary overall. I didn't like how the soundtrack was changed. The original score is superior, especially the minimalistic sequence during Hector and Achilles fight outside the walls. The Iliad is one of my favorite stories from the ancient world so it was neat seeing it on the screen minus the interference from the gods. I'd still like to see a full blown version of the Iliad including the gods. That would be truly epic. I didn't like that the movie basically made Achilles the hero of the story when Hector should be the hero. And the movie was missing the Gods' involvement in the war. Also, missing Cassandra's prophecies of doom and Agamemnon sacrificing his daughter, which Avengers: Infinity War ripped off by having Thanos sacrifice his daughter.
