Well, it's a sin as much as anything else not matching up to God's standards is. We have plenty of evidence of people in the Bible that doubted God's ability or plan, but they usually want to a way to be corrected on their thinking, so it;s not the same. “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46, KJV).
Jesus cannot be 'corrected' since Jesus is perfect and perfection cannot be in error..
