It was a cock up but an easily massaged one, but now all they did is create more cock ups, this time not via other peoples films but their own, also for the DC fanatics, this is less a retcon than the one involving wonder woman in the DCEU where we now have 3 versions of her past from WW1 to present presented in 3 separate films, so you know pitchforks down fellas.
