Superman death was controversial because some believed it wasn't necessary or they saw it as something that could have given us an emotional scene in a future DCEU film was thrown aside because...I guess Snyder wanted to be a edgelord.
Hell the ending of BvS teased his Resurrection, so it was a cop out.
It reminds me of X-Men 3 where they kill off Xavier and in a post credit scene it's revealed that he survived.
