Love Pitch Black! It's a very fun, sci-fi action movie. I like the characters, the alien creatures and the way Twohy stages the suspenseful sequences.
It's a bit bloated, but I liked The Chronicles of Riddick: Director's Cut (my preferred version as it feels like a more complete film). It attempts to expand the series by bringing in elements of sci-fi/fantasy stories like Dune and Conan the Barbarian and I give it points for that. I also liked Nick Chinlund's Toombs and his rivalry with Riddick.
Riddick was a disappointment. I liked the opening where Riddick's stranded on the planet and befriends the space dog (or hyena?), but the rest of the film was a lazy retread of the original with different monsters. They should have had a big boss creature at the end!
