I'm not a big fan of Vietnam conflict "war" films but Apocalypse Now is great. I like that it's based on Heart of Darkness which I'm surprised was never adapted to film earlier.
One that deals with the French involvement in Vietnam was "Jump Into Hell." Pretty good film about Dien Bien Phu.
A fairly forgotten film about our early involvement over there was "Go tell the Spartans"
Another one for the Gene Hackman fans out there is BAT*21.
